Part 3/3 of Episode 1

Alright, so I finally decided on a day and time to wrap up episode 1 of my streaming webcast. Tune in this Saturday (March 28th) from 3:30pm – 5:00pm Pacific time to watch me finish up the Shatterstar/Deadpool puzzle cards that I’ve been working on. In this the final part I will be finishing all the details. If you can’t catch it, don’t worry I’ll post links to all 3 parts here once I finish. Each part is about an hour and half long, but you can always fast forward… I might be editing a time lapsed version for Youtube as well, so stay tuned. Also tune in this upcoming Monday at 2pm Pacific time to see the first part of Episode 2 LIVE! I would give you the topic… but I’m not sure what it is yet! Fables

Have you read this yet? Fables is freakin awesome okay! Imagine all your favorite fairy tales come to life in modern day New York. Now when I first heard the premise I was a bit skeptical, but the stories that writer Bill Willingham has created really put this series in a league of its own.

With regular characters like Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, the Big Bad Wolf, Pinochio, Red Riding Hood, and many MANY more, each with their own slew of real world problems and ongoing dilemma’s, these characters are truly intriguing. The fables have been kicked out of their homelands by the “Adversary”; a powerful conqueror of worlds.

I know I’m certainly not breaking any new news for many people out there, but there are still plenty of people who have not read these books! Do yourself a favor and head down to your local comic book shop and pick up the volume 1 trade paper back, I guarantee you won’t regret it.

Johansson = Black Widow

Taken from Entertainment Weekly:

“Scarlett Johansson has been cast to play the Russian femme fatale Black Widow in Iron Man 2, joining a cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, and the just-announced Mickey Rourke, according to E! Online EW.com first reported Johansson was approached for the role after Emily Blunt stepped aside because of her obligations to Gulliver’s Travels, an adaptation of the classic tale toplined by Jack Black. Iron Man 2 is due in theaters May 7, 2010.”

I loved the first Iron Man movie, and I think Johansson will make a great Black Widow. I’m also excited about Mickey Rourke; I haven’t seen The Wrestler yet but I hear nothing but praise for his performance.

Sketchcollectors.com

Well I thought I would use today’s update to promote a great website called Sketchcollectors.com. This site is a perfect place to set up a gallery of your current collection of cards, or if you just want to view some cards that others have collected. The website is fairly new, but growing rapidly! Each listing has the option to list the card’s artist, a short description, and whether or not the card is up for sale/trade. Other people can leave comments on your cards as well. Go check it out and set up a gallery!

Rittenhouse updates

Rittenhouse sent out a newsletter to some of their clients with new details (and pictures) for the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine card set, due out on April 29th! Here’s the info:

 The X-Men are back in an all-new feature film — X-Men Origins: Wolverine — and Rittenhouse Archives is pleased to be making the official movie trading cards. There will be 2 autograph and/or sketch cards in every box, and the sketch cards will be based solely on the comic books (not the movie). There will be only 6,000 numbered boxes produced. This oustanding card collection features autographs signed by all of the key starring cast!
There are over 40 different artists lending their incredible talents to this project to create one-of-a-kind hand drawn colored sketch cards.
