For what it's worth, James is very much OK with having to wait as long as it takes for his Commissions. Seeing the work unfold on your website is reward enough and as a wannabee/ couldabeen artist myself, know that pure genius is always worth the wait and anybody who things creativity is switched on and off like a tap really has no concept of the art and is being unreasonable to think otherwise.

Feel free to post it on your site Rodney, thank you for asking. My commission rates vary greatly depending on the card stock and the subject matter. For this set I think my cards were priced between $150 - $300

Thank you Dottie, that's very nice of you. I love the Game of Thrones series and I am itching to do more artwork inspired by it. This particular card sold for about $40 I believe.

You're really talented to be able to pull off such grand artwork. And you were inspired by Game of Thrones, that's a real skill you got there since it's not a forced thing for you to do, it was because you were inspired. How much price did you put on top of it?

James, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. I really like your idea, it's unique and has great potential to benefit artists, so there isn't anything to complain about.

Unfortunately I have trouble seeing a company likes Topps adopting this practice. Especially because, as you mentioned, they continue to sell out of these sets, so it seems unlikely that they'd change things up too drastically.

I wrote this original post in a heated frenzy, which also caused me to make a few bad decisions that could have hurt my career, but luckily they didn't. I still believe in better compensation and not underselling my work, but I also need to take into account how big a factor exposure plays.

I have noticed recently a slight upswing in compensation, which as caused me to accept more work, so things are looking good.

As I said before I really like your idea and I hope a smaller company or license holder catches on and adopts a similar tactic. If that happens you will be the mastermind behind it all! :D
